Land and Building Tax down

October 12, 2009 - 08:24 AM

Director of Tax Base Expansion Hartoyo said that the government has cut down the rate of land and building tax (PBB) in rural and urban areas to maximally 0.3% of the selling value of tax object (NJOP) in a bid to expand the tax base of the tax, Kompas Daily reported on Monday.

In addition, the authority to stipulate the rate of PBB would be delegated from the central government to regental/municipal governments in December 31,2013.

“The database of PBB currently consisting of 92 million tax objects would be distributed gradually to regions and the regions are expected to strengthen information technology facility to manage the database,” Hartoyo said, adding that the untaxed selling value of tax object (NJOPTKP) is set at Rp 10 million per tax object at the minimum.

Previously, the rate of PBB was 0.5% of NJOP, while the maximum NJOPTKP was Rp 12 million. (*)
